Home Inspector Training Course Overview
This 8-day Home Inspector Training Course is designed to equip aspiring home inspectors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform professional inspections in accordance with ASHI, InterNACHI, and State of Indiana standards.
Course Structure and Preparation
The training includes a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on fieldwork, lab demonstrations, and guided home study. To fully benefit from the program, students should plan for 60–70 hours of self-paced study before class begins. Course manuals will be provided upon registration, and we strongly recommend reading them thoroughly in advance. This preparation will help reinforce key concepts during class and enhance overall comprehension.
We also encourage students to inspect systems in their own homes and complete the suggested field exercises for any unfamiliar topics. Evening study may be necessary throughout the course to keep pace with the material.
All required study guides, reference books, and classroom handouts are included in your course fee. To successfully complete the program and qualify for the state exam, you must pass the final course exam with a minimum score of 75%. Additional review time is recommended before taking the state licensing exam.
Each of the next eight posts will walk you through the key topics covered on each day of the course.
